National Impact

As an Aboriginal community-led organisation, our core intention is to work collaboratively with Community, finding influential ways to engage Indigenous people across Australia and create value through projects that inspire, connect, and share culture.

National Impact

Through national networks, Tranby connects with past and current students from around Australia, to share stories and bring Community together. We share resources and ideas and collaborate with other Aboriginal community-led organisations to undertake projects that bring positive value to our diverse communities.

Our current projects include:

Yanalangami: Strong Women, Strong Communities program

This exciting Tranby initiative seeks to celebrate the achievements and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women from around Australia. Using cultural leadership methods, self-reflection tools and strengths-based frameworks, Yanalangami brings women together from around Australia to foster stronger connections and grow women’s confidence as community leaders.

Since the inaugural program in 2021 Yanalangami has expanded to include an annual national online program and smaller state-wide programs. The unique program demonstrates the power in bringing together Elders, Aboriginal Female Changemakers and young women to invest in themselves as leaders of our future. Tranby hope is that this program encourage Indigenous women to dream big and inspire the next generation of resilient female Changemakers for and from our communities.

BLACKBOOKS

Originally established in 1982, BLACKBOOKS went into abeyance in the 1990s and in 2022 is celebrating its re-launch as a social enterprise with profits going into Aboriginal community controlled education and community development programs.

We are working to (re)establish BLACKBOOKS across the Australian (Global) literary and publishing supply chain through a series of strategic interventions aimed at creating an eco-system of authority and expertise led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content creators, cultural producers and community led development organisations.

Burawa

Burawa is a national Tranby-led program aiming to move our Mob upwards into the careers they want. We do this by enhancing the information, advice, and support available to Indigenous adults across Australia, empowering them to choose successful pathways to education and fulfilling careers.

Our non-accredited course content is innovative, relevant, and culturally safe, with mentorships, networks, resources, and holistic support services available.
