The Federal Government Department of Human Services provides payments and support to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

JUSTICE OF THE PEACE
The NSW Justices Association operates a Justice of the Peace service desk at the Glebe Neighbourhood Service Centre from 2pm to 4pm on Wednesday and Friday.
The service is available to:
• administer oaths
• witness signatures
• witness affidavits
• witness statutory declarations
• certify copies of documents.
INDIGENOUS HISTORY AND RESEARCH
The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is the premier site for Indigenous history research, native title research and a fine repository for research and manuals.
For those students from out of town, Tranby arranges your accommodation at the Best Western Haven Inn, Glebe. The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Tranby, on Glebe Point Road. The hotel has recently been renovated and student feedback has been excellent with regard to their new upgrade.
Aboriginal Medical Service, Redfern
There is a fine Aboriginal Medical Service a couple of suburbs away in Redfern, specialising in Indigenous health needs.
Closer to Tranby, there are also some local medical practices:
Passengers on Sydney’s public transport system use an Opal card as the ticketing system. You buy and top up an Opal card at the local Glebe Newsagent, a couple of streets away from Tranby.
GLEBE – THINGS TO DO AND SEE
While you are studying at Tranby, make sure you get out and about in Glebe. There’s always plenty to see and do.
The Broadway Shopping Mall is one of Sydney’s best near the southern end of Glebe Point Road. Aside from the great shopping, you’ll find handy bank branches and ATMs.
